How long have you been in business?
Compass House has been in business since July 1972.
What is your primary product or service?
We are a shelter and resource center for runaway and homeless youth. We shelter both male and female youth ages 12-17 and our resource center does non residential services for youth ages 14-24. All of our services are free and voluntary.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Compass House is the only shelter and resource center for runaway and homeless youth in Erie County.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have 2 locations - 370 Linwood Avenue, Buffalo, NY and 1451 Main St, Buffalo, NY.
What type of payments do you accept?
All of our services are free and voluntary.
Which areas do you service?
We serve all areas of Erie County.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Compass House is licensed by New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
What are your hours of operation?
Our shelter is open 24/7. Our resource center is open Monday-Friday 9-5.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
We are a last resort for many youth and we hang in with these youth until they are stable and able to either be on their own or are reunited with their family.
